My name is Alexander, and I'm the creator of My Dictionary. Four years ago, I was struggling to learn English as a Russian speaker with no English-speaking environment around me. I was tired of traditional translation-based learning methods that never seemed to stick.

Then I discovered a powerful concept: learn every language as if it's your first. Instead of constantly translating between languages, I started building understanding through meanings and context. I would write definitions in Russian to explain English words, not translate them. This created a deeper, more natural understanding.

But doing this manually in textbooks was exhausting. So I built My Dictionary to automate this process and make it accessible to everyone. As my English improved, I naturally transitioned to writing definitions in English itself, building true fluency.

Today, I'm fluent in English and use it as my primary language for daily life. I'm proud of this journey and want every language learner to experience the same transformation.
