What is Pure Bite?

Pure Bite is a recipe discovery and management app for iOS. It helps you find, save, and organize recipes with powerful search features and a built-in shopping list. All your saved recipes and shopping lists are stored locally on your device for privacy and offline access.

Is Pure Bite free to use?

Pure Bite is free to download and use. The app provides access to thousands of recipes through the Spoonacular API. Some features may require an internet connection to fetch recipe data.

Do I need to create an account?

No, Pure Bite does not require account creation. All your data, including saved recipes and shopping lists, is stored locally on your device. This means you can use the app immediately without any sign-up process.

How do I save recipes?

When viewing a recipe, you'll find a save button (usually a heart icon) that allows you to add the recipe to your personal collection. Saved recipes are stored on your device and can be accessed even when offline.

Can I use Pure Bite offline?

Yes, partially. Once you've saved recipes to your collection, you can view them offline. However, searching for new recipes and browsing the recipe database requires an internet connection. Your saved recipes and shopping lists are always available offline.

How do I add ingredients to my shopping list?

When viewing a recipe, you can add all ingredients or individual ingredients to your shopping list with a single tap. The shopping list organizes items by category to make your grocery shopping more efficient.

What recipe data does Pure Bite provide?

Pure Bite provides comprehensive recipe information including ingredients, measurements, step-by-step instructions, cooking time, difficulty level, nutritional information, dietary tags (vegan, gluten-free, etc.), and recipe images. This data is provided through the Spoonacular API.

Can I filter recipes by dietary preferences?

Yes! Pure Bite offers extensive filtering options including dietary preferences (vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, dairy-free, etc.), cuisines, meal types, cooking time, difficulty level, and more. You can combine multiple filters to find exactly what you're looking for.

What happens to my data if I delete the app?

Since all your data (saved recipes and shopping lists) is stored locally on your device, deleting the app will remove all your saved data. We recommend backing up important recipes before uninstalling if you plan to reinstall later.

Is my data shared with third parties?

Your saved recipes and shopping lists are stored locally on your device and are never transmitted to our servers or shared with third parties. We only use anonymous analytics data (through Firebase Analytics) to improve the app experience. For more details, please see our Privacy Policy.

What iOS version is required?

Pure Bite requires iOS 15.0 or later. The app is optimized for iPhone and takes advantage of modern iOS features including dark mode support.
